Yorke peninsula: a unique place to be married with its beautiful beaches,
pastoral scenes, pure country air and laid-back vibe.
It's always a pleasure to meet couples who are planning to marry on “Yorkes” and hear their wedding plans. It's an honour to be asked to perform a marriage ceremony and I do take that privilege seriously.
I offer completely bespoke ceremonies; every one is tailored to suit the personality of the Groom and Bride; with as much consultation and input
as they wish.
Obviously there a a few mandatory -legal- components to the wedding ceremony:
1.Usually near the beginning of the ceremony the Celebrant says The Monitum,
a paragraph which identifies themselves as authorised to solemnise the marriage; defining “marriage” according to Australian law.
2.The Vows- there is one sentence that both the Bride and the Groom
must individually repeat after the Celebrant.
Often, people add their own personal vows/promises as well.
3. There must be two witnesses present who are over 18 years
4.The Certificates of Marriage and the Celebrant's Marriage Register must be signed by the Bride, the Groom, the two witnesses and the Celebrant.
For eloping couples, I provide the services of two witnesses if required.
THAT'S ALL THAT'S LEGALLY REQUIRED....
…...the rest is up to the Bride and Groom...and the choices are endless!
I have put together a 30-page document outlining customary -but optional- inclusions, offering loads of suggestions for each.
I've prepared another booklet on rituals and blessings that may be incorporated, as well as some international wedding ceremony traditions.
For those who like to think outside the box, I also offer two photo albums for inspiration:
one with 350 unique wedding ceremony images and the other, with hundreds of decorative ideas, from the ceremony to reception venue.
I always recommend a rehearsal – everyone involved feels much more
comfortable on the day....and there's no extra fee!
An awesome, unique wedding ceremony is possible -it takes planning, input and good communication between everyone involved....especially your Celebrant!
